For the past 15 years, the Friday before Mother’s Day has held a special place in my heart and in my home – it’s Military Spouse Appreciation Day! This special day was first observed by President Reagan in 1984 and Congress officially made it part of May’s Military Appreciation Month in 1999. At the Adecco Group, we have been committed to serving the career needs of military spouses for more than 19 years. We are proud to be recognized as a “Top Ten Military Spouse Friendly Employer” again in 2021.
While we celebrate military spouses all year long, we wanted to gift our colleagues something extra special this year for Military Spouse Appreciation Day. Our military spouse colleagues all received handmade jewelry designed and made by one of our very own military spouses! Amanda Marsh is an Adecco Centralized Delivery Manager by and jewelry designer and Etsy shop owner by night. Amanda is a member of our Military Partner Employee Resource Group and was honored to create a “cherry on top” gift for her fellow members.
To continue the celebration, we are thrilled to announce the launch of a military scholarship program in partnership with General Assembly for military spouses. The Adecco Group US Foundation Service Scholarship provides a new pathway of accessibility to a career in technology by giving five part-time scholarships to women veterans and women military spouses. To be considered, you can submit your application by May 31, 2021: https://learn.generalassemb.ly/military-spouse-scholarship/
Thank you, military spouses, for all you do to support on the Homefront – we wish you a very happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day from the Adecco Group US Foundation!
