JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – December. 12, 2022 – We all know the classic Christmas carol, “My Favorite Things” and this year at the Foundation, we thought we’d put a fun, yet festive spin on it and share a few of our favorite things!
First up, Rethreaded. As part of our charitable giving pillar, we partner with the Rethreaded organization based in Jacksonville, FL. Rethreaded works to support women who are survivors of sex trafficking. Rethreaded started with a simple idea and a strong passion from its founder, Kristin Keen. She began by forming relationships with women on the street and making prison visits and realized that the greatest need was for a safe, supportive work environment where the women could earn money while learning a skill and experiencing continued healing through the community. At the Foundation, we offer these incredible women upskilling opportunities through our Aspire Academy, high school diploma, and forklift upskilling programs.
The women of Rethreaded learn invaluable skills and create hand-crafted one-of-a-kind products for sale. We especially love their beautiful hand-made scarves and delicious chocolate toffee. Each purchase helps directly provide job training and holistic services for survivors of human trafficking. This is why Rethreaded is one of our favorite things!

Next, Sarah Flint shoes. A New Yorker, through and through. An entrepreneur. A shoe visionary. Sarah says that “Women today have places to go, and I want my shoes to help them get there.” Sarah balances style with comfort and fashion with durability.
The Foundation connected with Sarah Flint earlier this year while preparing for the Adecco Group US Foundation’s engAGe 2022 Women’s Leadership Summit in NYC. The engAGe program is a series of women’s leadership development workshops that prepare women in upper management positions for executive-level opportunities. Our mission is to promote gender parity in the workplace and help women feel confident in their capability to be impactful and authentic leaders.

Not only was Sarah a special guest of honor, she shared her personal story during the first night at dinner and reminded us all to make a plan and set our goals high. In addition to gracing engAGe leaders with her presence, Sarah also put the cherry on top that week by donating 10+ pairs of shoes to women veterans. We know those women will be fashion-forward and comfortable tearing up busy and bustling New York City streets!

Third, on the list, we absolutely love our military spouses! Military spouses play a vital role in our communities and societies at large. While we celebrate spouses all year long, for military spouse appreciation day – the Friday before Mother’s Day – we like to do something a little extra special.
One of our favorite and most memorable “things” we’ve sent to our military spouse community are bracelets from a Jacksonville, FL based non-profit, Operation New Uniform (ONU). ONU “empowers veterans and military spouses to successfully transition from military service to a purposeful career”. These beautiful bracelets include tiles for each branch of the armed services and serve as a reminder of how many lay their lives on the line to protect our freedom.
This year alone, we have supported more than 1,760+ military spouses through hiring, scholarship opportunities, and our reskilling programs and initiatives – all intended to break the underemployment trap for military spouses and create greater opportunities. Additionally, the Adecco Group earned the military distinction for Top 10 Military Spouse Employer for 2023.
Told ya’ – we ❤️🤍💙 our military spouses!

Keeping up with our military appreciation theme, next on the list for our favorite things are Suit and Salute events. Suit and Salute, a partnership with Dress for Success, the Wounded Warrior Project, and the Adecco Group Military Alliance network, empowers women veterans and military spouses to take their careers to the next level. In 2022, we hosted seven (7) events across the country.
Adecco Group and Dress for Success™ volunteers lead various workshops to help participants with “Building Your Brand.” All participants left events with a polished resume, professional attire, access to upskilling courses offered through the Adecco Group US Foundation’s Aspire Academy, and connections to a vast network of recruiters across the Adecco Group family of brands.
Wounded Warrior Project has not only been a steady partner with Suit and Salute events, but also an incredible referral source for internal/external hires for the Adecco Group. Check out Ken’s incredible story, ‘Putting Warriors to Work.’ It’s clear to see why Suit and Salute is one of our favorite things.
Last, but certainly not least on the list…Mignon Gavigan earrings! Glitz, glam, fun and everything in between. An entrepreneur. A rule breaker. An accessory-envelope-pusher. Mignon was another special guest of honor at the engAGe 2022 Women’s Leadership Summit in NYC. She shared her personal story, gave advice on how to push boundaries, and stated that we should all be encouraged to be ourselves, be bright and be bold in all that we do!
Each of our 40 engAGe participants received a pair of the Madeline “Wing” earrings and we’re still flying high from our engAGe summit and the annual Paradigm for Parity conference. During the conference, our leaders stood out in the crowd and made a bold fashion statement. Fashion forward and soaring to new career heights – what could be better?

At the Foundation, we are so fortunate to be able to partner with many amazing organizations and companies whose missions and values align with our pillars. We hope you’ve enjoyed learning more about some of our favorite things as much as we enjoyed sharing them with you.
Happy Holidays from the Foundation family to you and yours!
